Throwing this out on the socials and stacks... Jeopardy attaches when a Jury is empaneled - but it seems obvious that would no longer hold in the case of a mistrial. Could a Writ of Mandamus request an order to the Judge to declare a mistrial?
The tRump "bond" is rife with Hankey-panky, as several commentators have pointed out, in addition to Pro Publica, not least of which was the notion that Knight was about to step up for the full $465mil
before NY appeals court slashed it by 60%. tRump's legal team didn't feel that the courts needed to be informed of that "technicality", and so everybody caught a break there. It doesn't stop there, the whole business is showing an indelible taint, as is true with virtually every tRump "deal", and the 22 April hearings should be quite entertaining indeed.
