Din't ya think that if the reactionary majority tried such a move--with the additional evidence of their Jan. 6 unconstitutionally grounded decision--that the President would be justified invoking the Insurrection Act, taking them into custody, and otherwise protecting the Constitutional order?
Itโs always struck me that appointing the members of the stateโs judicial oversight and ultimate arbiter seems highly democratic in some way, but actually to not trust the system to self-regulate effectively ensures its exploitation by partisan politicians. Divisions of power only work when thereโs a divide between them. Now the US is stuck with checks from imbalances.
