Fun fact: I was experiencing some discomfort similar to what Army doctors some years before had prescribed Donnatal for. Went to my PCP to get a new Rx, he sent me to a surgeon; he said I should walk across the street to the hospital & check in. I wanted to go home first & wash my hair, because it had been a few days. He said no. By the time they got me on the table, the appendix was ready to explode.
Recovery was pretty quick, tho. Hope yours is, too.
I'd die for Liz Dye (for Andrew too, if I have to). Hopefully that won't be necessary. Thank you for y'all's political service. You give me insight, hope, and belly laughs all the time
So sorry about that. I hope all goes well and you make a swift-ish recovery. My appendix burst during COVID (super fun, that) and I am of an age where they automatically assume abdominal pain is "constipation", so "serious", but not "surgery serious". Anyway, I finally got a CT scan and was whipped into surgery about 20 hours after it went "pop" (making quite a mess for the surgeon to clean up, lucky him.) The doc told me I would likely have an abcess and I said, nuh-uh, forget the fancy oxy painkillers (not a fan), load me up with antibiotics, so he did and I didn't get a secondary infection. Walk as much as you can as soon as you can to keep things moving thru your new and improved GI track and don't let them hurt you when they clean your drain. (Have them teach you to manage it ASAP so you can control the process and minimize related discomfort. If you have a drain you are going to have to manage it at home anyway.)
Ruptured appendix? Please take more than “a few days.” fer cryin’ out loud. As dire as Trumpland is, it can wait until you are comfortably back on your feet. Get your strength back, take a breath, and come back breathing fire when you’re ready!
Well that's not good. Hope you are already on the mend! If it is any consolation, while completing his residency a close relative not only disregarded his own training but that of his fellow doctors. Continued to play frisbee until appendix ruptured and sheepishly boarded the ambulance under the watchful eyes of his co-workers! Best wishes and looking forward to your return.
I'm so sorry. Get well soon!
Get well soon :(
In the meantime, I'll see if I can manifest Andrew by finding civil procedure things to read about.
I hope that the doctors take extremely good care of you and that you feel better soon!
