I asked this on a previous post, but can you explain what is different between a DC grand jury and a federal grand jury? Aside from where the pool of jurors are drawn from, is a DC GJ easier to secure an indictment? I just feel like I'm missing a key piece of the story.

Hi, Alex. The issue isn't that there are a different pool of jurors for federal and municipal grand juries. It's that the law appears to require a federal grand jury to return an indictment accepted in federal court. This looks like cheating.

I agree. The last thing the administration wants is discovery. Why did Cole think the election was stolen? Did he coordinate with the other seditionists?

I'm sure it's not meant in bad faith, but why mention that the defendant is on the spectrum? Autistic folks aren't more likely to be fascists, believe fascist conspiracy theories, or do fascist terrorism than anyone else, Elon Musk notwithstanding.

Fair point. The reason it's relevant is because Cole's lawyers will almost certainly make it an issue in the case, seeking to get the confession excluded and as a mitigating factor.

There's research showing that people with ASD are at risk of manipulation because they can’t always tell when they're being lied to. https://neurosciencenews.com/asd-lies-manipulation-9109/
